Just before we lost Chris Cornell, Skwerl and I dove deep into a number of new albums for a new music episode of the Antiquiet Podcast. Publishing at the time would’ve been insensitive at best – only now, a week later, can sounds beyond Cornell’s wails begin flowing from the speakers. So we shifted gears, recorded a tribute to the late King of Seattle, and shelved the new music episode. Until now.
In ep. 16, we dissect and debate the latest offerings Paramore, Kasabian, Fleet Foxes, Blondie, Sylvan Esso, Builders & The Butchers and more. We put a good bit of focus on the new Paramore, with their record After Laughter presenting something of a full-circle process for the band. Skwerl’s deep dive on this is seven years old, with an in-depth look at the initial wheels coming off the Paramore pop-star vehicle.
