Cedric Bixler-Zavala, lead singer for The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In, has been exposing an increasingly great sense of humor recently. We first told you about this when his bizarre YouTube account started to gain some notoriety; later he took it to Twitter in a way that probably makes most humor accounts jealous; and now, we have a four-minute video of nothing but his awesome stage banter.
During At The Drive-In’s performance at Lollapalooza last month, the band ran into more than a few technical difficulties, forcing Mr. Bixler-Zavala to entertain the crowd while the problems were sorted out. And he sure as hell succeeded. Wathh below, as the singer goes into detail on the difference between chanclas and havaianas, refers to the band as Latin Danzig, and lets us in on the band’s meeting process during a technical failure:
Thankfully, we’ve got more of this, but during a The Mars Volta gig. While there were less breaks for banter, Cedric didn’t miss any opportunities to grab random objects from the audience and pose with them, among other antics. Watch the footage from the Open’er Festival in Poland below:
Unfortunately, neither The Mars Volta nor At The Drive-In have any tour dates scheduled at the moment, but it shouldn’t be too long before some are announced.
