It’s that time of the year again, and Gorillaz are full of Christmas spirit. The band has had an exceptionally successful year with the release of Plastic Beach in March, and the commencement of their first-ever world tour. Now they’re trying their hand at something a little different: An online advent calendar.
The advent calendar, located on the band’s website, guarantees “a daily feast of Gorillaz gift ephemera” leading up to Christmas day, giving fans even more reasons to look forward to the holiday season.
The past two days, the gifts have included sound-check footage from the current world-tour, and printable masks with the warning: “Make sure you’re not wearing the mask when you punch out the eye holes with a large pointy Christmas stick!”
The calendar only kicked off yesterday, so there are still a lot more surprises to come – 23 days worth – and knowing Gorillaz, fans are assured good fun at the very least.
