The Beastie Boys To Fight Themselves For The Right To Party

Beastie Boys, Music

Back in December, news of a freak short film directed by The Beastie Boys based on (and building on) their classic Fight For Your Right video hit the buzzoblogospheres, complete with¬†photographic evidence of Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride in character as the Boys. A trailer for the 30 minute short has surfaced, and it’s kind of amazing.

The plot seems to be something to the effect of the following: Young Beastie Boys from the 80s are confronted by old Beastie Boys from the future, who then challenge them to some sort of dance / smack-talk / (presumably, though not pictured)¬†graffiti / skateboard battle in front of Paul’s Boutique right here in Brooklyn. As the actual Beastie Boys were deemed too old for the role of the old Beastie Boys, the old Beastie Boys will be portrayed by Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black.

Like some kind of insane We Are The World of sketch comedy, the 2 minute clip, set to the fresh new track from the world’s best senior citizen rap group, also features cameos by Rainn Wilson, Perry Farrell (no, wait, that’s Ted Danson), Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Will Arnett, and the actual DeLorean.

The full 30-minute version of Fight For Your Rights Revisited is “coming soon.” Hot Sauce Committee Part Two is due out on May 3rd.
