The candy-cane bluesy loveliness of the White Stripes may be gone for good, but their music lives on, and today we’ve got a couple more sounds to add to the striped mountain of beloved songs from the duo.
Third Man Records recently let two previously unreleased covers loose for members of The Vault fanclub-subscription service, and the internets grabbed hold with both hands. The first, Signed D.C., is a stripped & haunting tale of hopeless drug addiction written by Arthur Lee. Listen below.
The second track is a casual take on Otis Redding’s I’ve Been Loving You Too Long. Listen below:
Also included in the Third Man release was a DVD called Under Moorhead Lights All Fargo Night – check out our in-depth review of the film.
Special thanks to Rocko at Some Kind of Awesome for unearthing these gems.
