Earlier this year we introduced you to the band Ghost. While our introduction may have been a bit late to the most hardcore of metal heads (including such celebrity supporters as James Hetfield, Chino Moreno and Phil Anselmo) the fact is that Ghost has been successful in winning us over to the message of Satan by using the medium of melodic heavy metal music.
In 2013, Ghost is set to return with their highly anticipated sophomore effort. Over the past few days, the band has been teasing fans via the website SecularHaze.com with snippets of new sound bites. Earlier today the band unveiled the first single from their still untitled second record. Check out Secular Haze down below.
Ghost performed their final ritual of 2012 earlier tonight in their native Sweden. According to a cryptic Facebook message, it appears to be the final show for the band’s vocalist Papa Emeritus I. While the band will not take on a new vocalist, it is assumed that much like the Vatican replaces the pope we will have a new ‘Satanic Pope’ for the upcoming album and touring cycle.
Update: Ghost has posted live footage of Papa Emeritus I passing the torch to Papa Emeritus II before performing Secular Haze at the above mentioned show in Sweden. You can watch it for yourself down below and ponder if the band does indeed have a new singer or not.
