A Third Mysterious Queens Of The Stone Age Message has Surfaced

Queens Of The Stone Age, Music

Just in case you weren’t already excited enough hearing news last week about Elton John’s involvement on their new record, Queens Of The Stone Age have released a third mysterious message regarding their as-of-yet untitled sixth album, this time to Kerrang. The theme of time continues, much like in the previous releases to Mojo Magazine in December and Uncut last month.

Check out the new message below:

The artwork not only repeats imagery involving clocks, but there is also a mentioning of a phone. A possible allusion to the previous message about how they “dialed 999″,? Seems like it, especially noticing the small set of numbers on the wrist above – also matching the clock worn by the rabbit on the previous message, and the one featured inside the eye of the first message, all pointing to nine o’clock. The number of nine sure seems to be an important one to this band and this record. Stick around to see what comes next.

In light of these recent messages, NME updated readers by posting a clue that was exclusive to them. It appears to be from 2012, but for many, it’s still news and it still fits with their running theme. Give it a look:

Meanwhile, On The Internet...

  1. Chris says:

My brain is going to explode. I am so pumped for this album

  2. qotsaamkw says:

  3. Joe says:

Am I the only one scared this album is going to suck balls for some reason?

  4. Fred Bob says:

I was really looking forward to it until recently then it has turned to a more cautious optimism. It sounds like they were really going through something as a band but isnt Dave everywhere else at the moment other than recording this album… Secrets of the sound rockumentary didnt have drums in the practice room either… then again, Josh has never let me down before…and Lullabies shows he can craft a thematic LP… we shall see…

  5. Eric says:

While Josh & Co. have never disappointed thus far, I just hope the hype doesn’t overshadow the work.
But this is Queens, so I’m expecting to be blown away.
You can’t put that many great musicians on a record and get a mediocre result.

  6. Charlie says:

Quit bullshitting and put the damn album out. QOTSA fans aren’t decrypters, we just wanna have our minds fucked by some sick jams. “Give the mule(s) what he wants”

  7. Mike Lerman says:

    not worried. just stoked.

  8. Chris Beal says:

A stitch in time will save you 9
but some things you can’t fix.
So if you find you’re out of time,
then here is album number 6

  9. midnight_marauder says:

Does anyone else feel like these messages are starting to get a little redundant?

  10. Atom says:

I’m guessing the Kyuss dispute and Josh recording the new “Miggy” album last month has pushed this album back. I’m ready to embrace the weird.
