Ryan Adams Debuts New Band/Songs During Royal Albert Hall Performance

Ryan Adams, Music

Last night in London, Ryan Adams kicked off the 2013 Teenage Cancer Trust Benefit Concert series currently being held at Royal Albert Hall. Curated by Noel Gallagher, Adams premiered a brand new backing band (not to be confused with his other new band, Pornography) for the sold out show.

Adams played a 17 song set (18 if you count an improv about bread) that mixed classics with two brand new songs. Adams was joined on stage by Ethan Johns on Guitar, Cindy Cashdollar on Pedal Steel, Don Was on Bass, Benmont Tench on Keys and High Flying Birds drummer Jeremy Stacey.

The two new songs are assumed to be on Adams follow up to the 2011 effort Ashes & Fire. Adams is reportedly once again working with producer Glyn Johns (who is indeed Ethan Johns father for those keeping score at home) and the record is rumored to be released this fall.

You can check out some video highlights (which is rather incredible considering how strict Adams tends to be about individuals recording his shows) and a complete setlist courtesy of the To Be Young message board down below.
