The 2014 edition of the dual-weekend, desert debauchery extravaganza known as Coachella has been revealed. Prepare to get your sunstroke on with headliners like the omnipresent Arcade Fire, a resurrected Outkast and the return of British-paranoia rockers Muse.
The poster is bolstered by the hometown chaps in Queens Of The Stone Age, the coveted addition of Beck, the Swedish electro-doom of The Knife, the confusing choice and revival of Mötörhead (despite Lemmy Kilmister’s recent heart problems), New Zealand’s indie sweetheart Lorde, the re-return of The Replacements and the inevitable perfection of Neutral Milk Hotel.
Other notable sub-headliners include Broken Bells, HAIM, Chromeo, Foster The People. Disclosure, Fatboy Slim and Neko Case.
All the way down that list there is plenty of wonderful for your eyes and ears. There is a lot of rock this year: The Afghan Whigs, Anti-Flag, MGMT, Cage The Elephant, Mogwai, The Dismemberment Plan, Beady Eye and AFI.
In the small print you’ll also find notable up-and-comers like Chance The Rapper, Darkside, Woodkid, Dum Dum Girls, CHVRCHES, The Naked And Famous, Ty Segall and Bombino.
There is something for everyone this year.
