Brody Dalle, best-known for her work as the frontwoman of the Distillers and Spinnerette, has announced plans for her debut solo album. Entitled Diploid Love, the record is set for an April 29th release and features guest appearances from members of Garbage (Shirley Manson), Warpaint (Emily Kokal), The Strokes (Nick Valensi), and Queens Of The Stone Age (Michael Shuman). Brody co-produced the album with help from an amazing man named Alain Johannes, known from extensive work with the likes of QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Eleven and Chris Cornell. Needless to say, Brody has been in pretty good hands.
Last weekend, Brody started performing several of these new songs live, along with old Distillers classics and some Spinnerette stuff. Here’s a YouTube playlist featuring most of her set from Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, CA:

Dalle has also announced a string of European tour dates before heading to Australia and New Zealand to serve as the opening for the upcoming join QOTSA/NIN tour. All dates can be found on Dalle’s official site.
