Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden Set to Co-Headline Summer US Tour

Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Music, Tour Dates

Nine Inch Nails might be less than halfway through their Australian tour with Queens of the Stone Age, but that didn’t stop the band from teasing fans about something else they’ll be doing later this year. All signs point toward It has been confirmed that this is another co-headlining tour, but this time in the US, and with none other than Soundgarden.

Recently, LiveNation let slip an announcement for an August 17th date in Dallas, TX, featuring NIN and Soundgarden. Some fans were also able to find an auction for a meet and greet with Chris Cornell along with tickets to an August 25th date at LA’s Hollywood Bowl, also featuring both bands. Then, earlier today, the acts posted very similar teaser videos to their respective Instagram accounts, as seen below:

Soundgarden’s video, in particular, shows several recognizable venues, and it was only a matter of time before the extremely savvy and hardworking fans at Echoing the Sound figured out what each frame indicated – and now we have a seemingly complete list of 22 venues where NIN and Soundgarden will perform a co-headlining (we assume) tour in the summer. [UPDATE]: The full list of dates has been published on Soundgarden’s Facebook, and can be checked out below. All dates and venues match what was previously announced/leaked:

We’ll update the list with actual dates when they become available. It should also be noted that this Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of both The Downward Spiral and Superunknown, arguably each band’s most notorious album, which spurted a sort of professional rivalry. In any case, this tour is a nice turn of events, considering where Chris Cornell and Trent Reznor left off.

In other news, if Matt Cameron isn’t back by the Summer, Matt Chamberlain will be the drummer for these dates.

Nice to know that the Kiev concert was cancelled because of this.

OH, you don’t think it had anything to do with the fact that Ukraine is on the verge of being a fucking warzone right now, do you? Probably not..

    “…arguably each band’s most notorious album…”
I do not think that word means what you think it means, Mr. Filho:

    no·to·ri·ous adjective \n?-?to?r-?-?s, n?-\
: well-known or famous especially for something bad.

    Full Definition of NOTORIOUS

: generally known and talked of; especially : widely and unfavorably known

  3. Ahem, Bumbling Chucklefuck, as the “gangstas” say, you just got told sir.

  5. Rob says:

None of the above comments have anything to do with the FUCKING INSANE news that NIN and Soundgarden may be co-headlining the US. I don’t work here, but please don’t comment with unrelated internet finger-pointing. Do it live!

Livenation accidentally let slip this morning that Death Grips are opening the Farm Bureau date. Will they be opening the whole tour?
