Last night in Los Angeles, Slayer made a surprise appearance at the annual laughingstock known as the Golden Gods Awards. During the band’s three song set, the trash legends (perhaps best referred to in 2014 as the Tom & Kerry Show) debuted a new song called Implode.
The song marks the first new music since the band’s underwhelming 2009 record World Painted Blood. It’s also the first music since guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away nearly a year ago. As far as Implode goes, it’s pretty much everything you would expect from Slayer, so those hoping for clean vocals or some kind of sick dubstep interlude will be thoroughly disappointed.
You can stream the song for yourself down below. You can also give Tom and Kerry your e-mail address in exchange for a free download by clicking here.
Slayer is expected to release a new album in early 2015. It will be the band’s first album for Nuclear Blast Records.
