Well, if one version of Nirvana’s classic, genre-defining hyperbole-inducing 1991 classic Nevermind simply wasn’t enough for one lifetime, then we have just the news for you this week. Virginia’s Robotic Empire has organized Whatever Nevermind, a tribute to the original record gathering together highly-regarded bands from across the planet to re-record it’s original tracklist and some extra songs you might know of. Some bands choose to re-interpret the original songs in a manner close to the original versions, others not so much. Fun! A similar tribute to the band’s third album, In Utero, was released last year.
If you want to pick up a physical version, it’s available on vinyl from the label’s site right here. But be warned that the In Utero tribute sold out almost instantly. If digital versions are more your thing then you can pay money for it on bandcamp too.
