I have a soft spot for artists producing music mostly comprised of very basic instrumentation and a voice. Over the last few months, I have been listening to a decent amount of Julien Baker, whose EP Sprained Ankles has been making the rounds through the blogosphere since its release in late 2015. That said, I’d like to talk about a lesser-known young artist from Brooklyn, New York named Juliet K, whose debut LP All Unforgivable Things dropped in March. I have been playing this record on repeat since I discovered it, Juliet’s beautifully well-trained vocals and the modernized mutation of classic folk-based instrumentation make All Unforgivable Things a very special and captivating release. Check it out in its beautiful entirety below.
