I’ve been wanting to remind people that LA electro-rock possé Battle Tapes released their debut album Polygon late last year. It was one of the year’s best, and yet I don’t see them on the Coachella lineup, or soundtracking molly-fueled makeout sessions between horny but socially conscious young adults in quite as widespread a manner as you would expect or hope.
Luckily, the perfect excuse has come along; the band released a remix EP for their collaboration with Party Nails, Solid Gold. It features two remixes from Battle Tapes, one from Story Of The Running Wolf, and one from The Beta Machine, which is Matt McJunkins and Jeff Friedl of A Perfect Circle / Puscifer / Eagles Of Death Metal along with Claire Acey of Nightmare And The Cat and some other talented friends. You can stream the EP on Spotify, or right here via Soundcloud:
You can get the EP on 7″ vinyl right here. And if you’re in LA, there’s a show this Saturday that you shouldn’t miss: Battle Tapes, Party Nails, and Story Of The Running Wolf will all be playing together at the Hi-Hat, the official release party for this EP. See you there?
