Unless you live under a rock, chances are you were aware that a tiny music festival known as Bonnaroo took place this past weekend in Manchester Tennessee. While the festival had numerous highlights (and not to mention meltdowns) one of the biggest moments of the weekend came during the first of two sets by festival headliners Phish.
Having already performed a career spanning 75 minute set in the beyond capacity The Other Tent earlier in the day, County Music legend Kenny Rogers joined Phish early in their first of two electrifying sets. Well into his 70’s, Rogers and the Vermont natives performed a laid back take on his 1978 hit The Gambler. You can check out fan filmed footage for yourself down below.
Last night marked the second time Phish has closed out Bonnaroo. Other highlights of the jam rockers two set performance included a juicy cover of TV On The Radio’s Golden Age and the first appearance of Shafty since December 2003. Phish will return to the road this weekend with a three night run at Bader Field in Atlantic City New Jersey.
