I’m about to publish a review of the new Tricky album False Idols, but first I wanted to share with you all a discovery I made during the course of writing it. On the album, there’s a great track called Nothing Matters, featuring one of many of the album’s guests, a Nigerian-German pop singer named Nneka.
As I went about matching names with voices, I found myself digging into each guest’s past work, and that is how I stumbled on this incredible song My Home, and Nneka’s album Soul Is Heavy. The album’s opening track is really great as well. And if you all you hear, there’s plenty of powerful acoustic performances and live sessions that prove this girl is the real deal.
