Comedian Bill Burr’s narration of this clip of John Lennon performing with Chuck Berry on the Michael Douglas show in 1972 hilariously skewers Yoko Ono’s blatant disregard of good taste, and John Lennon’s painful inability to correct even her most egregious misbehavior. The look on Chuck’s face when Yoko begins her caterwauling is fucking priceless. Is it a little unfair? Possibly. But holy shit is it funny.
By the way, lest any of you think the comedy of the situation is exaggerated via clever editing, here’s the full performance without commentary or rearrangement:
Yoko’s random nonsense noises stain the performance out of nowhere, and Berry’s reaction is subtle, but immediate and unmistakeable.
