Update: We came, we saw, we rocked the hell out of SXSW! Thanks to everyone who made it out or took part in any way, especially our Axis of Audio partners Consequence Of Sound, Some Kind Of Awesome, The Rock It Out! Blog and TwentyFourBit!
We are beyond proud and thoroughly excited to finally announce our SXSW show/party, going down Saturday March 19th in Austin, Texas, which we have been relentlessly working on for 5 months now:
We’ve established a sort of Justice League of honest independent music sites, with the working name Axis Of Audio, to put on a show that will stand apart from the rest during the annual mid-March musical hurricane down in Austin. Leveraging our combined strengths to put together an unofficial (read: free!) show that eats most of the official shows for breakfast, we’ve lined up some of our favorite bands and arranged an event you’re not going to want to miss.
So do you really need to blow $750 on a wristband? That’s your call. But you won’t need it to get into the Rumbler Lounge on Saturday, and with a total of 14 bands on 2 stages (and free food to boot!), you know where the real SXSW action is. We don’t fuck around. RSVP Now via Do512.
Third Man Records’ The Greenhornes will be headlining, with A Place To Bury Strangers, Astronautalis + P.O.S., Ezra Furman & The Harpoons, Le Butcherettes, Jukebox The Ghost, Hollerado, The Gay Blades, Dirty Ghosts, Fences, The Silent Comedy, Sabrosa Purr and God-Des & She filling out the eclectic lineup of acts hand-picked by the Axis. If you’re unfamiliar with any of these acts, get acquainted through this quality coverage:
