Metalheads Get Pussy, Best of Fallon’s Tonight Show, and Other Silly Shit

I’m not really sure what the good lord’s hell happened to Nico Vega, but they have a new song, co-written by Aja’s boo, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons. They seem a lot happier than they used to be, unfortunately.

metalcats

Metalhead, artist, and animal rights activist Alexandra Crockett has brought unto the world Metal Cats, which is a picture book combining “the extreme personalities of the hardcore metal music scene and their adorable kitties.” Proceeds from the book will go towards one no-kill shelter in each of the four main cities visited. This one’s a no brainer.

Oh, and here is an amazing video of cats dancing/puking to techno.

Hark has released a new song featuring Neil Fallon of Clutch. Hear it at Metal Hammer. I found this through Neil, and thought Hark’s singer sounded a lot like the guy from Taint. Well, he’s the guy from Taint. So I’m going to be keeping tabs.

Jimmy Fallon is off to a great start on the Tonight Show. The “evolution of Hip Hop dancing” with Will Smith was alright, “History of Rap 5” with Justin Timberlake was impressive, but Brian Williams doing Rapper’s Delight? That was a thing of beauty:

Pretty much every band that isn’t doing SXSW this year is in Australia for Soundwave or whatever. Various shenanigans resulting from that include future entries for Rock Stars With Koalas, bonergrams, and this fake rehearsal setlist from Alice In Chains:

Meanwhile, in Poland, a traffic circle has been officially renamed The Jeff Hanneman Circle Pit.

Finally, in Nashville, Jack White is working with Neil Young, while asshole copycat Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys is working with Lana Del Rey. Y he mad tho. Also, Young Neil has scheduled two performances at the Dolby Theater in LA at the end of March.
