Slim Wray is two men named Howzr (guitar and vocals) and Chris Moran (drums and vocals). With fuzzed-out guitars and cymbal-ridden beats, the Brooklyn duo leans heavy on that blues and old-school rock n’ roll. “Recommended if you like The Black Keys” would be the nice way to describe it, but beyond obvious comparisons there’s raw emotional honesty, and song craftsmanship that qualifies the band’s effort.
