Music at its most heartfelt; the notes, croons and howls of TV on the Radio have been greatly missed since 2011’s Nine Types of Light. Since then, the band has gained even more esteem in the minds and memories of fans and onlookers, while the members have both dallied with other great projects and also overcome great tragedies.
And all of this has led them to a new album, Seeds, slated for the fall.
As of now, not much is known about the new record except for a quote by frontman Tunde Adebimpe, claiming:
“We’ve been through a lot of stuff in the past few years that could have stopped the band cold; but I’m glad we got it together and took stock of the unique connection we have between each other because the record is, 1000%, without a doubt, the best thing we’ve ever done.”
Though the band has toured extensively since the release of Nine Types of Light, they remained fairly quiet with regards to new music until last year, when they released two memorable singles, Mercy and Million Miles.
As Stereogum first reported, the group also unveiled three new tracks at Napa Valley’s BottleRock Festival. New Song #1 is actually Test Pilot, which the band also performed at the Governor’s Ball Festival in New York City. The name of the other two songs have yet to be revealed. It is safe to at least presume that they may indeed be a part of the forthcoming Seeds.
