Melt Banana Announces New Tour

meltbananatourposterIt’s been more than a year since Japanese noise/grind legends Melt-Banana hit the road in North America for the first time as a duo to support their last album. The wait for a new tour is over though, as today the group announced a headlining jaunt through the United States and Canada for May and June. News of the Maryland Deathfest lineup has been out for a while, so a tour surrounding the festival appearance isn’t a complete and total surprise. However, more unexpected is the announcement of a followup tour with stoner-pop favorites Torche to happen the following month. Between the two, it looks like the act is almost certain to be playing somewhere near you this Summer. Tickets for most of the gigs go on sale later this week.

With the announcement, the group also announced the release of a singles compilation entitled Return of 13 Hedgehogs (MxBx Singles 2000 – 2009), which is presumably a followup to the group’s first singles compilation which was also released under the 13 Hedgehogs name.
