In 2011, legendary New Hope rock-n’-rollers Ween broke up amidst stories of drug abuse and infighting. Since then they’ve busied themselves with other projects and generally done little in the way of an actual reunion. That all changed today however, when the group announced that they’d be reuniting on President’s Day weekend, February 12th and 13th, for a pair of shows with the entire band. The performances will be taking place at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO. Currently the band is promising “new stuff that nobody has heard live before,” indicating that the shows won’t just be for nostalgia’s sake.
Ween were a powerful live act during their original run, with shows running to nearly three hours and many gigs documented both in official releases and fan bootlegs. What else comes of this reunion has yet to be seen, but any news that the entire group are working together again is good news. So far, tickets can only be purchased by a lottery that only runs until this Wednesday, so if you can make it out to Colorado then by all means sign up now.
