I know you had big Saturday plans. Moving from the bedroom to the garage, maybe the kitchen, before heading back to the garage and maybe the backyard. But you’re gonna want to squeeze in some screentime while you’re making the best of quarantine on Saturday, because the One World: Together at Home broadcast is about to become the Live Aid of the coronavirus generation.
To support and celebrate healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization and international advocacy group Global Citizen have put together a benefit show for April 18th. The massive event will be broadcast live on nearly every major streaming service, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, Tencent, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.
The One World: Together at Home event will feature performances and appearances from a wild range of performers fincluding Eddie Vedder, The Rolling Stones, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Elton John. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert are set to host the all-star lineup.
The One World: Together At Home special will run in two parts: there will be a global multi-hour digital livestream running from 2 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET, and a 2-hour broadcast from 8 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET.
The world’s biggest social media networks — from Facebook and Twitter to YouTube and Twitch — are coming together to host the digital livestreams with dozens of additional artists performing from their homes.
Here are all the artists performing:
Check out a playlist put together by GlobalCitizen.org – but be warned, we’re looking at Lady Gaga, Sheryl Crow and Celine Dion to start this thing. So caveat emptor…
