For our newest Antiquiet Session, we tapped the Wisconsin-born blues rock wizard Jared James Nichols. Now based in LA, Jared recently caught our attention by displaying those rare traits we covet. Talent, and passion. We set up shop at Swing House last weekend for a split acoustic / electric set, aided by soul singer Jessica Childress.
For those of you that lost your shit when we introduced you to Reignwolf, to those with jimmies rustled over Fernando’s examination of the Gary Clark, Jr. hype train, for those that love the sound of a masterfully plucked guitar, Black Crowes and Zep fans, come one, come all. Jared had 500 gigs under his belt by his 21st birthday, and is not slowing down anytime soon. He’ll be playing all over Austin this week for SXSW, and hopefully getting out on tour soon to push his EP, Old Glory & The Wild Revival.
For the final song of this set, LA soulstress and The Voice alum Jessica Childress guests on the blistering blues-rock shredder Blackfoot:

You’ll be able to catch Jared at Rusty’s this week at SXSW. He’s playing today at 3:30, tomorrow on the patio, and then Friday he’s supporting Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes for Swing House’s big Austin Occupation day party.
